Cautionary Tales for Children
Story playing cards
Nominated as Art Director for a group project. Working together with four peers on Loughborough University’s BA Graphic Design Course, we successfully illustrated, designed and printed a full deck of cards following short stories from Hilaire Belloc’s ‘Cautionary Tales for Children.’
Highlights
• Oversaw all layout, typography and illustration work
• Spade suit illustrations, Joker layout and typography
• Produced the box design, all suit icons and the reverse side of cards
• Resolved issues that arose and stepped in to finalise illustrations to assist team members
• Responsible for the print process from start to end, including communicating directly with printers
• Headed project meetings and responsible for setting team deadlines, delegating tasks evenly to meet members’ strengths, and planning logistics for the project from start to end
• Produced one of the most successful outcomes of that year’s module
